2015 PCSC Championship Meet

Location: Norris Aquatic Center, 13275 Livingston Rd.

Date: Saturday, August 8, 2015
Warm Up: 7:45am (BGC, NOR, SC, Y) / 8:15am (MON, AVE, RP)
Meet Start: 9:00am
Theme: “Pirate”

Number of Teams: 7 (Ave Angels, Boys & Girls Club Barracudas, Monterey MonteRays, Norris Tiger Sharks, River Park Racing Roosters, Sanchez-Casal Alligators, Greater Naples YMCA Aqua Nuts)
Number of Athletes: 247

Meet Program (Heat Sheet): $5 at concession stand

Awards: Ribbons will be distributed at the END of the meet, not after each race like the regular season dual meets. Place ribbons will be distributed to 1st-8th place. Swimmers who do not receive a place ribbon will receive a participation award.
There will be plaques for the teams (1st-5th based on overall points)
Scoring: Top 16 places score, based on time.
Timing: Automatic timing systems will be used

Psych Sheet: This is the ranking of swimmers by time in each event. This is not a heat sheet and does not provide heat/lane information. The heat sheet will be available on Saturday to coaches and parents.

Volunteers: This meet will need quite a few volunteers. Lanes are assigned for warm up and each team has a ‘home base’.  Click here for volunteer information, warm up info, and facility information.

Clerk of Course:  This meet will use a ‘Clerk of Course’ system.  Swimmers will be called to the Clerk of Course tent at least 3 events prior to their next entered event.  At the Clerk of Course, each heat will be assembled and will be escorted to their lanes. Parents will not be allowed in the Clerk of Course area.

What to bring:

• TENTS!  Any families that have pop-up tents are encouraged to bring them for the swimmers and spectators.  The PCSC will be providing tents and shade for all volunteer areas (timers, computer operators, concessions, clerk of course, etc.)
• Folding Chairs
• Towels
• Pirate-themed apparel – dress up and have some fun!
• Money for Heat Sheet and Concessions (heat sheet, also known as the meet program, will be available for $5)

Saturday, August 1, 2015-

In the final weekend of dual meets of the 2015 season, the Tiger Sharks (5-0) defeated the MonteRays (4-1), while the Racing Roosters (3-2) defeated the Barracudas (0-4-1). The Greater Naples YMCA inexplicably canceled their meet vs. the Alligators. The Ave Angels (2-3) had the week off.

Saturday, July 25, 2015 -

One of the most exciting weekends of racing took place on Saturday, even during the rain showers. The annual rivalry continued with the River Park Racing Roosters (2-2) narrowly beating the Ave Angels Swim Club (2-3) at the Ave Maria Waterpark. At the same time, at the Greater Naples YMCA, the Boys & Girls Club Barracudas (0-3-1) tied the Greater Naples YMCA Aqua Nuts (0-2-1). During both of those meets, the undefeated Norris Tiger Sharks (4-0) defeated the Sanchez Casal Alligators (1-3) at the Norris Aquatic Center.

Need help with your racing start? If so (or even if you just want some practice), all PCSC swimmers are invited to a free racing start clinic by T2 Aquatics, Naples’ year-round swim team. The clinic will be held at the Norris Pool (13275 Livingston Rd) on Sunday, July 26, 2015 from 1:00-2:00pm. No registration necessary. This is a free clinic, instructed by USA Olympic Team coach Paul Yetter and USA Swimming National Age Group Coach of the Year Tom Yetter.

July 18, 2015 -

The Ave Angels Swim Club (2-2) won the day when they swam the Sanchez Casal Alligators (1-2) at the Sanchez Casal Academy on Saturday, July 18, 2015. While this meet was happening, the Monterey MonteRays (4-0) were hosting the Boys & Girls Club Barracudas (0-3), with the MonteRays continuing their undefeated season. Also, at the River Park Aquatic Center, the Racing Roosters (1-2) put on an amazing show against the Norris Tiger Sharks (3-0), but falling in a very exciting meet. July 11, 2015

The Monterey MonteRays (3-0) were victorious over the YMCA Aqua Nuts (0-2) on Saturday at the Norris Aquatic Center. Out at the Ave Maria Waterpark, the Ave Angels (1-2) beat the Boys & Girls Club Barracudas (0-2), while at the Sanchez Casal Academy, the Racing Roosters of River Park (1-1) beat the Alligators (1-1) in fun competition. The Norris Tiger Sharks (2-0) had a bye this week.
