The 2015 season brings some exciting changes to the Paradise Coast Swim Conference! During the spring meeting, the coaches unanimously voted in favor of adding computer operators and certified observers at all meets, to make the meets run more efficiently. While the number of volunteers needed remains relatively the same, two roles will require additional training prior to the start of the 2015 season. Each team is required to provide at least one of the following! Please talk to your coaches to sign up!
Computer Operators
We are moving up in the world! The 2015 season will be all-electronic to speed up the entry of results and make the meets run smoother and faster. If you have laptop and/or would like to learn the ‘behind the scenes’ of meet operations, this is definitely for you! Each team is required to have at least one computer operator, but the more each team has, the easier things are for everyone! To learn how the process works, all you need to do is attend one of two short meetings at the Norris Pool: either Sunday, June 7 from 6:00-7:30pm OR Sunday, June 14 from 6:00-7:30pm. To encourage attendance, the Norris Pool will be open for “fun time” during this meeting and lifeguards will be provided! Bring the whole family! RSVP to your team’s coaching staff.
Meet Observers
The coaches of the PCSC have elected to implement ‘certified volunteer observers’ for all meets for the 2015 season! These observers are NOT ‘officials’ and will simply observe the meet and ensure all races are performed fairly. The observers will not be responsible for any communication with swimmers. This is a very easy volunteer position that each team needs! To become a certified volunteer, all you need to do is attend one of two short meetings at the Norris Pool: either Sunday, June 7 from 6:00-7:30pm OR Sunday, June 14 from 6:00-7:30pm. To encourage attendance, the Norris Pool will be open for “fun time” during this meeting and lifeguards will be provided! Bring the whole family! RSVP to your team’s coaching staff.
